Viking chess Dress up as Tom Crean in our Antarctica Exhibition Front of County Museum Tralee

So much to do at Kerry County Museum….

WHERE to start? Play Viking chess; plot St. Brendan’s route to America; guess the origin of Ireland’s animals; decipher a secret Ogham message; discover a Stone Age survival kit. It’s all in the MUSEUM GALLERY, where you will also find countless artefacts illustrating Kerry’s turbulent history and fascinating archaeology. Dress up as Kerry’s most famous explorer, Tom Crean, in the ANTARCTICA EXHIBITION.

A powerful family, a brutal murder, a symbol hidden in store – become a forensic archaeologist in the museum’s new BONE INVESTIGATORS display. Activities include a skeleton dig, inspecting a rotten Viking tooth and looking at medieval parasites under the microscope. Travel back in time and re-live life in Tralee in the year 1450 in the MEDIEVAL EXPERIENCE. Walk through he reconstructed streets and houses complete with sounds and smells of the era. A real eye-opener.

We'd love to hear from you!
