Welcome to Gneeveguilla

Gneeveguilla (Gníomh go Leith)  is a small village in the Sliabh Luachra region of South East County Kerry. It is situated just north of Rathmore, close to the County Kerry/Cork border.

It is in a scenic region of undulating hills and valleys and serves a rural hinterland consisting of dairy farms, pastureland and peatland. Because of it's rural, inland and higher altitude it can sometimes get snowbound for a few days in cold winters. The Sliabh Luachra area is rich in culture and is known for its traditional music heritage. There are two cultural monuments erected in the village. Gneeveguilla is not subject to significant traffic volumes or congestion. There are no formal car parks in the village. Gneeveguilla is home to Gneeveguilla Athletics Club, one of Ireland's successful grass roots athletics clubs. Established in 1978, it has enjoyed success in both local Kerry Athletics and at national level. It is the third biggest club in Ireland.
