Golf in Kerry – A Lifetime Experience:

Nowhere else is the rugged and beautiful landscape more stunning than the South West of Ireland. Its many bays, inlets and coastline views are simply awe inspiring. Mountain and forest landscapes with flowing rivers, waterfalls and glaciated lakes make the South West the most visited regions of Ireland for its beauty alone.

While today Kerry is home to thriving towns such as Tralee, Killarney, Kenmare and Dingle it is the presence of historic sites dating back to the Neolithic Period, the Bronze and Iron Ages that makes a visit here a spiritual and emotional experience that will remain engrained with you forever. Its people voted the friendliest and most welcoming people on the planet have been moulded by the early Christian and Anglo Norman periods.

The influences of these Explorers along with English settler’s right up to Ireland being declared an Irish Free State in 1922 can be seen throughout the region in ancient tombs, monastic ruins, castles, Victorian and Georgian architecture , monuments and museums. The region is steeped in history and in every town and village one can see the Irish culture in practice through its music, dance, and native Irish language and of course the “Irish Pub”.

Golf In Ireland:

What has all this got to do with golfing in Ireland, you might ask? Our near neighbours and settlers, the English introduced golf in Ireland in the 19th century and with nature having played its role, the South West of Ireland is the epitome of what is best in Irish golf and home to some of the finest links and parkland courses. Wonderful links courses, Ballybunion, Tralee, Dingle, Dooks and Waterville combine with the traditional and beautiful parkland courses of Killarney, Ross and Ring of Kerry to present a mouth-watering menu of top class golf. Every aspect of your game will be challenged on these courses where subtle winds and mounds will dictate your play and your imagination becomes your 15th club in the bag.

During your golf holiday, you can relax with a sumptuous Irish meal in one of the many award winning restaurants and enjoy a few pints of Guinness in the pub where one can experience real Irish ‘craic’. Ireland probably has the best 19th hold in the world!

For non-golfing spouses Kerry is an unforgettable experience. The scenery alone is breath-taking and it is a natural centre for outdoor pursuits with a wide range of activities to choose from, including hill walking, trekking, biking, horse riding, shooting, fishing, surfing, horse racing, organised shopping and sightseeing trips as well as visits to the aforementioned historic sites and museums.

The warm temperate climate of Ireland ensures golfers can play most of the year round. A lifetime experience not to be missed!
