Tarbert Bridewell Courthouse and Jail is an attraction not to be missed, as you are summoned to stop and witness a spine chilling recreation of the judicial and prison regime in Ireland of the late 1800's.

As you experience a tour of the Bridewell Courthouse and Jail you will follow the wretched life of Thomas Dillon as he is charged with wilful trespass.

You will experience the drama of being 'Sent Down' in the Tarbert Bridewell and you will share in his anguish and witness the rough justice meted out often and harshly in Ireland of the 1800's.

A time not to be forgotten and never to be repeated, Tarbert Bridewell Courthouse and Jail is a Listed Building and is part of the Heritage and History that is preserved for future generations.
