Welcome to Glenbeigh

Village of Champions

Welcome to Glenbeigh, Glen of the Birch Trees and the home of champions. Nestled on the world famous Ring of Kerry, Glenbeigh is a charming holiday village, cosily resting at the bottom of the Curragh and Seefin Mountains. Glenbeigh village has been welcoming visitors since the 1850s. The Caragh River and the Behy River flow on either side of the village into Castlemaine Harbour and Rossbeigh Beach stretches out into Dingle Bay. Rossbeigh Beach at sunset

The mountain and coastal scenery here is magnificent and full of adventure. The salmon and trout fishing season starts in January and finishes in late August. Trout fishing on Lough Coomasaharn, the largest of the local lakes, is a hidden local gem. There are plenty of horse riding trails for every rider, from inland mountain trails to stunning beach gallops along the beach. You must take time to enjoy the splendour of Rossbeigh beach, it stretches for more than eight kilometers along a north south spit into Dingle Bay. Legend has it that Oisin and Niamh galloped off on their white horse into tir na nOg, the land of youth.

There are  two family run hotels, four beautiful caravan parks, a lovely choice of B&Bs, guesthouses and a hostel for our visitors. Our restaurants and pubs offer excellent food in relaxing environments all year round. You can enjoy traditional music sessions in the pubs throughout the year.

Glenbeigh Races PosterThe Glenbeigh Festival and Races is our annual celebration held in late August. It's a huge success every year and starts on a Friday evening with a parade through the village and street entertainment throughout the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday there is the Horse Racing meeting at Rossbeigh beach. Glenbeigh also hosts a popular St. Patricks Day Parade in March.

See our local businesses The Sleepy Camel, The Olde Glenbeigh Hotel, Kerry Ocean Lodge, Towers Hotel, Burke's Horse Trekking, Ashes Bar, Kerry Bog Village Museum and Red Fox Inn on the goKerry.ie business pages. Select Businesses from the black ribbon then search by business name.
